Lee in the mix at Sentosa

Australia’s Minjee Lee is once again contending in an LPGA Tour event, this time the Women’s World Championship in Singapore.

Lee, 21, from Perth, will go into today’s final round at Sentosa tied-third, four shots from the lead held by American wunderkind Nelly Korda.

The Royal Fremantle product carded a 66 yesterday after 71-66 to start, but Korda overtook everyone with a dynamic 65.

Lee, who is ranked 15th in the world, has said her target for 2018 is to reach a top-10 ranking.

If she wins today she may well achieve that goal already, having finished tied-fifth at the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open to start her season, then fourth at the Honda LPGA in Thailand, as well as winning the Oates VicOpen on the Ladies European Tour.

Korda at 15-under leads by a shot from fellow-American Danielle Kang, with Canadian Brooke Henderson and Lee at 11-under on the next line. Korda, 19, the younger sister of LPGA Tour star Jessica Korda, is seeking her first win.
