Lee storms home to win Elvie Whiteside by ten

Western Australian teenager and National Squad member Minjee Lee has won back-to-back titles at the Elvie Whiteside Tasmanian Stroke Play at Royal Hobart Golf Club. The 16-year-old eclipsed a quality field finishing the 72-hole tournament with a 19-under-par total of 273. Lee recorded rounds of 71, 68, 69 and a course record 65 to take out the National ranking event. Lee s nearest rival, Victoria s Su-Hyun Oh finished at 9-under-par with rounds of 73, 69, 67 and 74 but was unable to reel in the defending champion. Western Australia s Hayley Bettencourt placed third on 4-under-par after scoring 74, 73, 71 and 70. The event s leading Tasmanian was local member Ashlee Dewhurst who placed outright fifth on 2-over-par with rounds of 73, 72, 75 and 74. Tasmania Golf Club junior Georgia Milbourne captured a swag of division two trophies. Milbourne, who plays off a handicap of 16, took out the 72-hole bronze gross and net sections after rounds of 91, 91, 92 and 92 off the stick.
