Lee’s $800,000 debut season on LPGA

Australia's top-ranked female player Minjee Lee completed a stunning debut season on the LPGA Tour today, logging another top-10 finish in the Tour Championship.

At the end of a long, grinding season in which she has played 29 tournaments, the 19-year-old Lee will return to her hometown Perth having finished 13th on the Race to CME Globe points standings for the year.

Lee, the former Australian amateur champion, closed with a 69 in the Tour Championship in Florida to finish tied-seventh behind American Cristie Kerr, while Karrie Webb finished tied-25th. The teenager earned $US821,121 in her first season in the world's top tour.

World No. 1 Lydia Ko held on to win the $US1 million bonus for leading points-earner across the season.

Lee is expected to begin her 2016 season in the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open at The Grange in Adelaide next February.
