Australian golf’s legends including Peter Senior, Peter Fowler, Peter O’Malley, Nick O’Hern and Robert Allenby are lining up to compete in the 2016 NSW Open Championship.

“This is a crack field of players ready to contest the Kel Nagle Cup,” General Manager of Golf – Golf NSW Graeme Phillipson said. “It’s going to be a real treat for fans of the game across NSW.”

Queensland’s Peter Senior is still very much a force on tour, winning last year’s Australian Masters at Huntingdale against a stellar field of Australia’s best.

Senior, a 23-time winner on the PGA Tour of Australasia, has won two Australian Opens, three Australian Masters, and three Australian PGA Championships in a professional career that began in 1978.

The 56-year-old who has won the Australasian Order of Merit four times has represented Australia at the World Cup of Golf. He has just spent the last six years on the US PGA Senior Tour with some success, however he has decided to return home to concentrate on supporting his home Tour.

Peter Fowler is a former Australian Open Champion who has a string of international titles to his credit, including wins on the European Tour and multiple wins on the European Senior Tour.

Peter O'Malley needs no introduction to golf fans. The Bathurst legend has three European Tour, two Nationwide (web.com) Tour and five PGA Tour of Australasia titles to his name. O’Malley is a former NSW Open Champion and is the Chairman of PGA of Australia.

Nick O’Hern is a two-time Australasian PGA Tour winner. He has been a regular name on the Australian golf scene for over 20 years now and has reached the top 20 on the Official World Golf Rankings. He has represented Australia at the World Cup of Golf and twice been selected for the Presidents Cup.

Robert Allenby is out to lift the Kel Nagle Cup and add the NSW Open to the list of championships he has won. The four-time winner on the US PGA Tour who turned professional in 1992 already has 13 wins on home soil including two Australian Opens, two Australian Masters and four Australian PGA Championships.
