Australian Marc Leishman has booked his place among a growing list of Aussies heading to Muirfield in two weeks for The Open Championship. The Victorian has recorded four Top 10 finishes so far this year – most notably his tie for fourth place at The Masters in April. Leishman, Jonas Blixt (SWE), Martin Laird (SCO), Freddie Jacobson (SWE), Graham DeLaet (CAN), Kyle Stanley (USA), Chris Wood (ENG) and Ken Duke (USA) all earned their places in the starting field as the highest ranked non-exempt players in the Official World Golf Ranking at the end of Week 27 7 July 2013. Yesterday Brett Rumford joined the field, among the top five players, not otherwise exempt, within the top 20 of the Race to Dubai after this week s Alstom Open de France. Last week Victorian John Wade came through Local Final Qualifying at Dunbar in Scotland to earn a place at Muirfield.
