Victorian Marc Leishman has produced a final round of three-under-par 67 in the Toyota Southern Classic to clinch victory from overnight leader Andrew Bonhomme with an 11 under overall score. Playing in the penultimate group Leishman s title defense looked unlikely as he trailed Bonhomme by six shots with eight holes to go. Yet, a birdie at 14, followed by two iron shots that shaved the holes at the tough seventeenth and eighteenth left him with two tap in birdies and the clubhouse lead at eleven-under-par. Needing a par up the last to force a play-off, Bonhomme found trouble off the tee as his drive drifted on the wind into the right rough. His approach came up short of the green and after chipping to six feet had a putt to force a play-off. Bonhomme s putt shaved the hole but wouldn t drop, giving Leishman his second Toyota Southern Classic and Bonhomme s second runner-up finish for the year. Leishman now head to the USA to tackle the Nationwide Tour, needing approximately another $US30,000 to gain his card. Young New South Wales professional Julian Reynolds finished tied third at eight-under-par, however he will be ruing the fifth hole where he hit two balls in the water before holing out for a triple bogey seven.
