rnSouth Korea&aposs Hee Kyung Seo birdied her last four holes to claim the inaugural Saint Four Ladies Masters on Jeju Island in South Korea yesterday. Seo finished on a three round total of 14-under par, two shots in front of compatriot Sun-Ju Ahn in outright second.  Another South Korean So Yeon Ryu was a further shot back in third after closing with a final round 7-under par 65. This tournament was co-sanctioned by the LET and the Korean LPGA marking the first time these Tours had joined forces.

rnAt the beginning of the last round Seo trailed Ahn by just a single shot. However, by the turn, Ahn had turned that into a four shot lead with birdies at the 1st, 6th and 9th holes, while Seo had played the front nine even par. At this point of the tournament, Ahn looked in complete control. However, Seo was yet to show her best and she quickly reduced the lead to just 2 with birdies at the 10th and 11th holes.

rnAhn played the complete 54-holes of the tournament without recording a single bogey; however, she was unable to find the necessary birdies over the last nine holes to keep up with the fast finishing Seo. The players reached the 15th hole with Ahn still holding her two-shot lead before Seo reeled off four straight birdies to finish the tournament and claim a two-shot victory. Afterwards she said, “From the very beginning of the event, I thought I could win.”

rnSeo sits second behind Ricoh Women’s British Open winner, Ji-Yai Shin on the KLPGA money list after recording five victories before this one and she now intends accepting the offer of LET Membership until the end of 2011, saying “What I envied about Shin was that she could have a variety of events to participate. I will continue to focus on the KLPGA but try to expand by taking part in major LET events.”

rnThe only Australian to make the cut was Anna Rawson, finishing in a tie for 17th at 3-under par 213. This event was the penultimate event on the Tour with the last tournament to be played in Dubai from 10-13 December.
