England&aposs Florentyna Parker held on to her overnight lead to win her maiden professional title at the ABN AMRO Ladies Open in Rotterdam on Sunday. Scotland&aposs Krystle Caithness finished in outright second, two shots behind Parker with Ashleigh Simon (South Africa) and Virginie Lagoutte-Clement (France) one shot behind Simon in third.

rnParker, who had her rookie LET season in 2009, started the final day two shots in front of Lagoutte-Clement and compatriot Laura Davies. She started nervously with a three-putt bogey at the first but steadied with birdies at the 3rd and 6th holes. Lagoutte-Clement started well to close the gap to one shot on the 6th, while Davies mixed three bogeys and a birdie on the front nine to fall four shots behind. The only other player to make a move was Caithness who started bogey, birdie, par, hole-in-one, bogey, birdie to move to 5-under par at the turn and just two shots from the lead.

rnParker moved further ahead with a birdie at the 11th hole and from there was barely troubled. Lagoutte-Clement made her first bogey at the 12th to fall three behind while Caithness made bogey at the 14th to slip out of contention. Davies, got back on track with birdies at the 11th and 16th holes but dropped shots at the last two holes to slide back into a tie for 7th.

rnParker continued her solid play with six straight pars from the 12th hole before wrapping up her first victory with a final hole birdie. Afterwards she said, “I can’t believe it. I didn’t expect to win; it just means so much to me. I’m now in the Evian Masters and the Ricoh Women’s British Open. I’ve fulfilled my goals for this week and I hope I keep playing well.”

rnKaren Lunn was again the best of the ALPG contingent, finishing in a tie for 13th at 2-under par. Her week included a hole-in-one on the 9th hole in the second round and an eagle on the 18th hole on the last day. She received a €6,000 Omega watch for her hole-in-one. It was her second of the year after an ace on the 2nd hole in the Moss Vale Ladies Classic on the ALPG Tour in January. There were also solid finishes from Rebecca Coakley and Kristie Smith (both T17), Dana Lacey-Johnson (T21) and Nikki Garrett (T26). Lynnette Brooky (T53) and Frances Bondad (T59) also made the cut.
