Former AIS scholarship holder, LET and LPGA tour player Nadina Light joins the board of Golf Victoria.
During her amateur golf career, Nadina represented Australia on four occasions, and had numerous major individual victories including the 2000 Victorian Amateur. She has achieved seven course records, including at Metropolitan Golf Club where she returned a 6 under par.
Nadina grew up in Sydney before moving to Melbourne to take up an Australian Institute of Sport Scholarship. She has been a member of Commonwealth and Woodlands Golf Clubs, and currently works in golf operations at Huntingdale Golf Club.
With a young family, she rarely has time to play the game she loved from an early age, however is looking forward to joining the Board of Golf Victoria.
“I was thrilled to be asked to join the Board,” Light said.
“I hope I can give something back to the game that was so good to me, and I look forward to working with the current board members in growing the game.”
Nadina joins current board members Stephen Spargo (President), Ross Anderson, Luci Bryce, Mark Dunstan, Dorothy Hisgrove, Cindy McLeish, Peter Nash and David Shilbury.
“Nadina will be a wonderful asset to the Golf Victoria Board,” President of Golf Victoria, Stephen Spargo said.
“She is a high performing and respected golfer who can assist the GA management team with future operational issues affecting women’s golf and golfing events in Victoria.”
Nadina commences her role immediately, and replaces Alison McCaig, who’s term finished at the end of May.
Alison was a wonderful contributor on the Board for six years. As a Golf Victoria Vice President Alison was involved across the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, as well as Chairing the Match Committee. Alison is also a current trustee of the Victorian Golf Foundation. Golf Victoria thanks Alison for her work and wishes her all the best for her future endeavours.
