The quarter and semi finals of the Country Championship match play took place today on the West Course at Cobram-Barooga GC. After a slight delay in the morning again due to fog, the matches began with all quarter final matches coming very close. The four that advanced through to the semi finals in the afternoon were the top seeds and Betty Kernot trophy winners Bianca Ling, Casey Wild, Catherine Odgers, and Jessica Pickwick.
The afternoon semi final matches saw 13th Beach youngster Ling heating up, shooting a blistering 5 under par to defeat Wild from Wodonga 7/6. In the second match, Pickwick (Kilmore) secured the upper hand early with a chip in on the 2nd hole, eventually taking down opponent Odgers (Wodonga) 3/2.
Ling and Pickwick will now face off in the final tomorrow morning at 8am on the Old Course.
