Little & Easte in fine form

Gary Easte has capped off a near perfect tournament after scores off 68 and 70 to win the 2014 Cranbourne Senior Amateur. Easte made the most of the perfect golfing conditions to clinch the title by ten shots  from Sandhurst member Bryce Birtwistle who had rounds of 75 and 73. Easte has only been on the senior’s tour for just over a year, and has had some great results including a 3rd place finish in last year’s Victorian Senior Amateur. Easte, who came second last year to Michael Jackson, was relieved to take victory this year.

Gary played fantastic golf across the two days, and impressively played the front nine seven under par for the championship. Gary managed to finish six under for the tournament even with four bogey’s to finish his final round.

“Great course, and I’ll definitely be back next year” Easte said in his presentation speech.

In the nett, Darryl Little (Royal Melbourne) played some consistent golf to fire nett rounds of 69 and 71 to win on a countback from Robert Veit (Riverside). The quick Cranbourne greens were helpful to Darryl in winning the handicap title.

All players were delighted with the course and Cranbourne Golf Club should be congratulated for their hospitality.
