Live Action Blog – Saturday, Third Round

As it happens: womensaustralianopen.com.au will blog all of the action, as it happens, on every day of the 2013 ISPS Handa Women&aposs Australian Open. 7:13pm – Saturday, February 16 Round 3 has come to a close, with both Lydia Ko and Jiyai Shin tied for the lead at 17-under par. The tournament is poised for a cracking last day, with both players displaying some excellent golf. Check out Peter Stone&aposs read on Royal Canberra, kangaroos, and Bill Clinton here. We&aposll see you back at Royal Canberra tomorrow for the final round of play! 3:30pm – Saturday, February 16 Lydia Ko started on fire with three birdies in her first eight holes to move to -17, but an eagle on the 6th saw Jiyai Shin draw back level at the top. Mariajo Uribe dropped two shots on the 1st and 5th holes, but was able to claw one back on the 6th to be at -14. Sarah Jane Smith and Rebecca Artis are the best placed Aussies at -10, while Kristie Smith dropped two shots early, but also clawed one back to be at -9 through eight. Keep up with the latest leaderboard via our live scores page. ==== 2:15pm – Saturday, February 16 Our final pairing of overnight leader MariaJo Uribe and Jiyai Shin are out on the course, and already the leader board is being shaken up. Lydia Ko birdied the 2nd to shoot back to outright first, while Uribe lost a shot on the 1st to drop back to T2. Karrie Webb fired back-to-back birdies on the 15th and 16th to finish at -3, while Stacy Lewis is -3 through 8 to move back up the leaderboard to -6. Paola Moreno continues to climb up the leaderboard herself, sitting at -6 through 17 holes in her third round. Fellow Aussie Jessica Speechley has started on fire as well, with -2 today also moving her to -3. Paola Moreno has been the big mover this morning, with four birdies on her front nine to move to -5. Leader Mariajo Uribe is partnered by Jiyai Shin in the final group of the day to tee off at 1:50pm, while Aussie Kristie Smith and boom Kiwi Lydia Ko tee off at 1:41pm.
