Lonard travelling well in Pittsburg

Canadian Brian Fritsch leads the Web.com Tour s Myaln Classic in Canonsburg near Pittsburg, his two round total of 12 under leaving his one ahead of Cliff Kresge and two ahead of the number two player on this year s money list Casey Wittenberg. 34 year old Fritsch has yet to win on the Web.com Tour and has played much of his career on the Canadian Tour until recent years. Peter Lonard leads the Australians, his second round of 65 moving him into a share of 6th position and four from the lead. Lonard stormed home with a closing nine of 30 to move within striking distance. Lonard, currently 75th on the money list, needs a win or several good weeks if he is to have any chance of making the top 25 this season but there are other milestones that will also be important to him. His first task is to get inside the top 60 by the Tour Championship in order to get a start in that event, the top 40 if he is to advance to the final stage of PGA Tour qualifying and of course the top 25 if he is to return to the PGA Tour in 2013. Michael Sim is another needing a few good weeks. He is currently 134th on the money list but he has started this week s event well with rounds of 69 and 67 to be in 11th position. Scott Gardiner is 22nd, Tim Wilkinson and Steve Alker 33rd, Aron Price, Steve Allan and Cameron Percy 46th and Nick Flanagan 60th.
