Long still in front

Michael Long leads the field by two strokes at the halfway point of the Western Australian PGA Open. The Perth-based New Zealander followed up his first-round four-under 68 with a 69 on Friday to be two strokes ahead of Jason Norris (70, 69). After posting a first-round three-under 69 to be in second after the first day, Mark Purser could only manage a one-under 71 in his second round as he dropped into third on the leaderboard. He&aposs still one stroke ahead of Australia&aposs top-ranked amateur, Matthew Griffin, who is lurking with intent, four strokes off the lead after rounds of 70 and 71.
