China reclaimed the International Challenge after defeating Australia when both teams travelled to the Panshan Golf Club on the outskirts of Beijing from June 1-5.
Launceston Golf Club’s Greg Longmore represented Australian in the event conducted over 54-holes with two man ambrose, four ball best ball and singles match play format.
The Chinese team used their local knowledge to jump to an early lead after the opening ambrose round, only losing one of the six matches of the day.
China extended their lead during the second round and maintained their dominance through the singles with the Australian professionals and amateurs managing six wins.
Longmore, paired with New South Wales’ Robert Kennedy, was defeated during the first two rounds but secured a win in the singles match play over Xianyand Gong.
The standout performer from the Australian team was West Australian Professional Vernon Sexton-Finck, going undefeated across the three rounds.
