Reigning LPGA of Japan money queen Sun Ju Ahn held on to beat overnight co-leader Chie Arimura and fellow South Korean Ji-Hee Lee to win her second title of the season at the Suntory Ladies Open on Sunday. Ahn mixed three birdies with a bogey in a final round of 2-under par 70 at the Rokko Kokusai Golf Club to finish on 14-under 274, while Arimura paid dearly for a final hole bogey to finish in a tie with Lee one shot behind.

Ahn, who won her first major in Japan at the World Ladies Championship in May, replaced Miki Saiki at the top of the money rankings after her sixth career JLPGA win earned her ¥18 million. "I am delighted to win," said Ahn. "I thought maybe the cups had it in for me because my short putts wouldn&apost go in, but I never lost my focus and maintained a good rhythm."

The 23-year-old enjoyed a bogey-free front nine with a birdie on the 7th, only to cancel that out with a dropped shot on the 12th. She quickly regrouped with back-to-back birdies from the 13th before matching par the rest of the way.

However, it all came down to the final hole with Arimura and Ahn standing on the tee tied at 14-under par. Unfortunately for Arimura a poor tee shot, left her too much to do for her second shot and she finished with a bogey.

Australia’s Nikki Campbell finished in a tie for 4th after a barnstorming finish where she posted a final round of 7-under par 65 to finish at 11-under par. Tamie Durdin also made the cut finishing in a tie for 56th after a disappointing final round.
