Japan&aposs Chie Arimura held onto the lead she built in the opening round to secure her first title of the season after carding a final-round of 5-under par 67 at the Stanley Ladies Golf on Sunday. It was good enough for a three stroke victory over Sakura Yokomine with Shinobu Moromizato a further shot back in outright third.

23-year-old Arimura blazed her way through the front nine with six birdies before making a pair of bogeys either side of a birdie on the 15th hole to cruise home for a comfortable victory. Her victory was set up on the first day with an albatross on the 8th hole followed up by a hole-in-one on the 16th. She eventually won her eighth career title with a 15-under total of 201 and pocketed ¥16.2 million in prize money.

"I played aggressively to try and improve my score so I&aposm pleased," said Arimura, whose victory was her first since beating South Korea&aposs Inbee Park in a playoff at the Studio Alice Ladies Open in April last year. She added, "It has been a long 15 months. I have no plans to play overseas anymore (this year) and I can head into the second half of the domestic season in a relaxed frame of mind."

Nikki Campbell was the only Australian to make the cut but never really got going for the whole week. She posted three rounds of 2-under par 70 to finish in a tie for 19th at 6-under par.
