South Korea&aposs Mi-Jeong Jeon posted a record tournament score to win the Resort Trust Ladies at The Country Club in Shiga by a massive seven shots. Her weekend rounds of 65 and 65 took her to a final total 14-under par total 202. In second place was veteran Japanese Akiko Fukushima who finished on 7-under par total 209. Another four shots back was Yuko Mitsuka also from Japan, on 3-under par total 213.

rnAfter a bogey-free second round, Jeon took a four shot lead into the final day and was never headed. After an early stumble where she made back-to-back bogeys at the 2nd and 3rd holes, she soon clicked back into Saturday’s form. In the end she posted four lots of back-to-back birdies in her last 12 holes. She played the last nine holes in 6-under par 30 and finished with birdies at the last two holes for a runaway victory.

rnJeon won this same tournament last and it was her 10th career LPGA of Japan victory, moving her into third place on the Official Money List. With one victory, two runners-up and five other top-10’s from her 10 starts this season, she has accumulated ¥39,828,266 (approx AUD$509,268.00) in prizemoney. Sakura Yokomine stills leads the money race with ¥53,381,000 (approx AUD$682,562.00).

rnNikki Campbell was the best performed of the Australian duo that plies their trade in Japan. She finished in a tie for 11th to post her 4th Top-20 for the season and move up to 28th on the Money List with ¥8,634,266 (approx AUD$110,403.00). Meanwhile, Tamie Durdin continued her best season in Japan with her 5th Top-20, finishing in a tie for 16th, just one shot behind Campbell. She now sits 13th on the Money List with ¥20,428,000 (approx AUD$261,205.00) in season earnings.
