Japan&aposs Ritsuko Ryu overcame a four-stroke deficit to capture the rain-hit Yamaha Ladies Open with a 4-under-par 68 on Sunday. Heavy rain had caused the second round to be abandoned, shortening the tournament to 36 holes. Ryu finished at 3-under par, while first-round leader Mayu Hattori shot a 74 to fall into a four-way tie for second with Yuki Ichinose, Hiromi Mogi and China&aposs Li Ying Ye at 1-over-par 143.

rnRyu carded six birdies and two bogeys in her round of 68 but it wasn’t until the final stretch of holes that she got herself into a good position to even win the tournament. Three birdies over the final four holes saw Ryu leapfrog a number of players on 1-under par. She posted 3-under and then had to wait until the final few groups finished. No one could match her total of 141 and she collected her second career title and her first of the year.

rnNikki Campbell posted her best result of the year, finishing in a tie for 8th after rounds of 72 and 73. Tamie Durdin finished at +10 to miss out on the money.
