LPGA Qualifying – NA, GARRETT AND BOWDITCH THROUGH TO FINAL QUALIFYING

Maryland&aposs Stephanie Connelly earned medallist honours at the second sectional qualifying stage of the LPGA Q-School at the Plantation Golf & Country Club in Venice, Florida. With rounds of 76,68,70 and 71 to total 3-under par 285, Connelly beat Frenchwoman and reigning New Zealand Women&aposs Open Champion Gwladys Nocera by a shot.

rnAmateur Leanne Bowditch was the best placed Australian finishing in a tie for 8th at 2-over par total 290. She will be joined at the final Qualifying School by ALPG Members Stephanie Na (T18) and Nikki Garrett (T27). New Zealand’s Cathryn Bristow, who played in the inaugural New Zealand Open earlier this year showed her potential to reach the big-time, finishing tied 6th.

rnThe Top-30 plus ties from each of the two sectional qualifiers played this month will join 2009 LPGA Players who have failed to retain their cards for 2010. Joining Na, Garrett and Bowditch will be Tamie Durdin who finished 10th in California earlier this month.
