Mackay Golf Club requires a Secretary/Manager POSITION FILLED

The Mackay Golf Club was founded in 1925. The course consists of 18 holes of rich grass and tree lined fairways offering excellent playing conditions to its 650 playing members. Mackay Golf Club has been voted best Queensland Regional Golf Club many times. Members and visitors enjoy lounge, bar, catering and poker machines facilities.

The club has a strong membership base and is home to the 4 day Mackay Pro Am held in July each year.

A position has become available at Mackay Golf Club as Secretary/Manager. The Secretary/Manager is responsible to the Board for the day to day operations in a manner which follows the Club’s strategic direction whilst ensuring that the Club’s financial, legal and social responsibilities are met.

We seek an energetic, motivated, positive and sales driven individual – an operational background in the golfing industry would be an advantage.

The ideal applicant will:

Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, strong computer skills and the personal qualities to work with a diverse member base
Be familiar with the practical and financial aspects of managing golf course facilities
Demonstrate expertise in keys areas of financial performance (working knowledge of MYOB would be an advantage), administration, and compliance with statutory requirements
Provide leadership and direction to a staff team of 10+.
Oversee functions of golf course management, food & beverage, corporate and event sales. Knowledge of One Golf management system would be an advantage.

Reporting to the Board, this position presents an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to be an integral part of our future growth. An annual salary will be negotiated subject to qualifications and experience.
