Mackay MyGolf Junior League Pilot

Following the success of the MyGolf Junior Leagues throughout Queensland’s South Eastern Districts, North Queensland Juniors got their first taste of the fun, competitive junior format over the school holidays.

With Mackay welcoming previous and or current MyGolf participants from Bowen, Pioneer Valley, Black Springs and Sarina Golf Clubs fourteen matches were played between the twenty-eight kids. As with all MyGolf Junior League each match was played as a two ball ambrose with each of the nine holes worth one point towards the final total.

The winning formula of introducing our great game in a fun, kid friendly and team-based structure is an attempt to offer the best experience while still educating participants of the life skills involved. At the end of these kinds of days everyone is a winner.

Well done and thanks go to Mackay Golf Club for hosting the pilot, along with all club junior coordinators and parents that volunteered their time. Most importantly congratulations to all the MyGolfers for getting out there and having a go. We love to see it.
