Two of Mackay’s largest golf clubs, Mackay Golf Club and Pioneer Valley Golf Club, will play host to the 2018 Queensland Women’s Country Championship from Monday 14th – Wednesday 16th May.

Female golfers from all over the state will compete in the Championship which is the largest female golf tournament in Queensland. More than 300 players from 50 golf clubs are expected to converge on Mackay in May.

Mackay Regional Council is proud to be supporting this event and hopes the participants sample the best of what the region has to offer.

Golf Queensland’s Golf Operation Manager, Luke Bates, said the golf courses in the Mackay region were a perfect fit with the championships.

“We are thrilled to have the support of Mackay Regional Council in delivering this key championship,” Mr Bates said.

The tournament kicks off with the Foursomes Championship on Monday, concluding with the individual Championships on alternating courses on Tuesday and Wednesday.
