Macpherson savours experience

Bryden Macpherson may have missed the cut at Augusta National is his first Masters appearance but the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. His time playing with past champion Ben Crenshaw was one of the most valuable experiences of the week. Macpherson finished the two rounds at 9 over par after rounds of 77-76 to miss the cut by four shots but had Korean KJ Choi, Japanese star Ryo Ishikawa and PGA Tour winner Johnson Wagner among those to miss on the same number. Statistically his front nines were more difficult than the back nine. Macpherson played the front nine in 7 over par through 2 rounds but shot 2-over par over two rounds on the back nine. He birdied the second hole on both days, his best hole for the week. His birdies came at the 2nd, 13th, 15th and 16th holes.
