Maddison Hinson-Tolchard has officially arrived.
The West Aussie completed a memorable three-shot victory at the Australian Girls’ Amateur at Royal Perth Golf Club, shooting an incredible 14 under par for the tournament to streak away from Karrie Webb Scholarship holder Grace Kim on Friday.
Going into the final day, Hinson-Tolchard led by two shots, by the 10th hole she led by six. An astonishing run of six straight birdies saw the local fire towards her maiden GA Order of Merit victory in front of friends and family.
The WA captain closed her third round with three more birdies to finish with 67 and become the runaway leader with a seven-shot advantage.
From there, she couldn’t be caught. The WA teen was square through the first nine, before closing with a 74 and as a three-shot victor.
The comprehensive performance sees the 16-year-old granted entry into the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open in February 2019 in Adelaide.
New South Wales star Kim was solid throughout the week with closing rounds of 71 not enough to catch the eventual winner.
The Avondale product made her compatriot work for victory, however, with five birdies on the back nine pushing Hinson-Tolchard all the way.
Impressive young Queenslander Cassie Porter finished third at five under, with Sydney's Steph Kyriacou (-4) and Melbourne's Alice Fan (-2) rounding out the top five places.
