David Mallett has won the 2015 Surfcoast Senior Amateur. Mallett, Sands Torquay member, used his local knowledge to play some steady golf and fire rounds of 73 & 75 for a 148 total. David held off a fast finishing Ian Frost who carded a 70 in the final round. The defending champion finished on a 151 total, 3 back from Mallett.
It was a successful tournament for the locals with fellow member Graeme Altmann winning the nett with rounds of 70 & 73 for a 143 total. Runner up was Kew member George Kotaridis who was a shot further back.
In the women’s, Annette Bain (The Heritage) held her overnight lead to finish on a two round total of 63 stableford points. She clinched the title by 1 stableford point from 3 others with Carol McDonald edging out the others on a countback.
