Martin Blake has written golf in Australia and throughout the world since 2002. He is a multiple winner of major awards at the Australian Golf Writers Association's annual celebration of the game's best media.
He has been to all of golf's shrines — St Andrews, Augusta National, Carnoustie, Royal Melbourne — as well as documenting Australian golf for more than a decade.
Martin recently left The Age in Melbourne having spent 26 years as an award-winning sports reporter.
During his time at The Age he covered a range of sports with AFL, cricket and golf featuring heavily.
He reported from golf tournaments on both the Australian Tour and overseas during his time and covered major issues in the game over more than two decades.
In April this year he was drawn, at random, in a media ballot to play Augusta National Golf Club in Masters set up on the Monday following Bubba Watson's victory.
Blake wrote of his experience: "Lee Westwood called Augusta National Golf Club "Disneyland for adults" and it's true. The Masters is my favourite event to cover."
