It’s been a whirlwind 10 months for Bryden Macpherson since he defeated Scot Michael Stewart at the British Amateur Championship and earned his Masters invitation. After winning in England s North West, Macpherson headed to the East of England to Royal St George s in July for The Open Championship where he performed well but fell agonisingly below the cut line after bogeys at 17 and 18. It was nonetheless impressive and experienced players including Padraig Harrington, Lee Westwood, Justin Leonard and Hunter Mahan joined Macpherson at 4 over. For Macpherson, Georgia, indeed Augusta, is familiar territory. Around 18 months ago he moved to the University of Georgia and competed for the Bulldogs in the NCAA.
