At the start of the final round of the 2011 Masters Tournament, Geoff Ogilvy sat at 5-under par, in a tie for ninth place. For Australian audiences watching in the early hours, he was at the end of the leaderboard that matters on Sunday. He started his round without much fanfare a birdie at the par 5 Pink Dogwood 2nd hole before a pair of bogeys on the third and fourth put him over par for his round. From there, the Victorian and 2010 Australian Open champion steadied the ship with a birdie at the 8th to make the turn even with the card. After negotiating 10 and 11, Ogilvy found a rhythm that saw him soar through the leaderboard. Five consecutive birdies between 12 and 16 had many wondering if Ogilvy was going to add to a Green Jacket to his major collection after his 2006 US Open win at Winged Foot. He fell short of the win but completed his best finish at Augusta National in six appearances and returns in 2012 knowing that at his best, the course is within reach. 2011 Rounds: 69-69-73-67 (-10) Final Position: T4 (with Tiger Woods and Luke Donald) Masters History: 2006 – T16 2007 – T24 2008 – T39 2009 – T15 2010 – T26 2011 – T4
