Masters profile: John Senden

There s an element of the unknown quantity for John Senden at Augusta National. Somewhat remarkably, this will be the just the third time he’s played since 2002. When Senden played in 2008 and 2010, he missed the cut and in both cases there was one solid round and one tough round that would cost him a place in the draw on the weekend. In 2008 he opened with an 8 over par 80 which blew him out of contention and while he started well in 2010, a second round 77 cost him progression to the weekend. All this aside, Senden is indisputably one of the most consistent players on Tour. In 2011 he recorded seven Top 20 finishes and he started 2012 with three Top 10 finishes as he moved from 41 to 28 on the World Rankings. He finished 9th and 6th respectively in both World Golf Championships (WGC) this year and finished in a tie for sixth at the Humana Challenge. If Senden negotiates with Augusta National through to the weekend, it could be an interesting time to watch. 2011 Rounds: NA Final Position: NA Masters History: 2006 – DNP 2007 – DNP 2008 – CUT 2009 – DNP 2010 – CUT 2011 – DNP
