TV GUIDE

The Masters, in all its glory, has never had a better run on Australian television.

Channel 7’s affiliate 7Mate has veteran Queensland broadcaster Pat Welsh on site and will screen all the action from 4.45am from Friday to Sunday, then from 3.45am on Monday morning (all times Australian eastern).

But for those fortunate enough to have Fox Sports, this week promises to be like no other seen on Aussie television.

In the early hours of this morning, Fox Sports 5 turned Channel 506 into a dedicated, living shrine to all things Augusta National Golf Club.

For the entire week, 506 will be wall-to-wall Masters. From previews to Golf Channel extra shows in the lead-up, live coverage, review shows, daily replays and official Masters films, it’s the only place to be when too much Masters just isn’t enough.

In short, Fox Sports 5 will have the same traditional CBS coverage, plus a world of extras with the “On The Range” show airing daily from 1am (AET) as the lead-up.

Before you begin wondering why the main CBS telecast isn’t shown earlier, the answer is very simple – it isn’t shown anywhere, not even in the United States until the designated times.

So from now until midnight on Monday next week, enjoy and soak it all in.

It’s Masters week.
