Matt Jones going back to PGA Tour

Matt Jones has secured a full card to play on the United States PGA Tour again in 2018-19.

The Sydney professional ensured that he has full playing rights with his second place finish in the Web.com Tour’s Dap Championship in Ohio today.

The result means that even if he did not play the last two Web.com Tour finals tournaments, he would have enough points to hold a full card.

Jones, the 2015 Australian Open champion and a veteran of the US Tour, went through the same process last year.

Two Australians – Jones and another Australian Open champion Cameron Davis – are guaranteed to be among the 25 players given full PGA Tour cards from the Web.com finals, and another, Western Australia’s Curtis Luck (who missed the cut this week) is on the verge of qualifying as well.

Victorian Aaron Baddeley (23rd) also is now inside the top 25 on the points list and in position to gain full playing rights as well after he finished tied-16th in Ohio.
