St Michael's Matthew Stieger has continued his great form of late to win the WA Amateur at Melville GladesGC.
Recently crowned Australian Amateur Champion, Stieger was able to claim the title with a birdie on the 37th hole against Ray Chow (Gosnells, WA).
Chow dropped an intimidating 10ft putt on the 30th hole to keep the match square and then made an amazing flop shot on the 36th hole.
Both played extremely well in the second round of the final with the wind being a major factor.
In the end, Stieger’s long drives and solid chipping was enough to seal the victory and claim this year’s WA Amateur Championship.
