Matthew leads in Brazil

Scotswoman Catriona Matthew has taken a two-shot lead after the first round of the LPGA Brasil Cup. Matthew fired off five birdies and conceded two bogeys on her way to a three-under-par 69 at the exhibition tournament. American Kristy McPherson is in second place after shooting a one-under-par 71 while Brazilian Angela Park is third with an even-par 72. Two strokes further back in equal fourth spot are McPherson&aposs countrywoman Allison Fouch and Park&aposs compatriot Candy Hanneman (two over). In the middle of the 15-woman field sits a group of five on three over (Carin Koch, Christina Kim, Eun-Hee Ji, Jill McGil, Laura Diaz).
