Australian David McKenzie has finished the Bank of America Open in equal fifth position, four shots adrift of winner Kris Blanks. Blanks ended 16-under-par after the four rounds to narrowly score victory. McKenzie had a share of the lead with American duo Blanks and Skip Kendall heading into the final day but the Aussie could only manage an even-par 72 to remain on 12-under for the tournament. Blanks made the most of McKenzie&aposs average fourth round, which consisted of three birdies and three bogeys, by carding a four-under-par round of 68. The American&aposs five birdies and solitary bogey were enough to ensure him the Nationwide Tour title by one stroke ahead of compatriot Bob May (15-under-par) who raced up the leaderboard after starting the day in a tie for 15th position on seven-under-par. Kendall had a nightmarish final 18 which saw him plummet to equal 31st after he recorded a four-over-par 76 that included six bogeys. American trio Spencer Levin, Kyle Reifers and Tommy Tolles joined McKenzie in a tie for fifth spot. Aron Price, David Lutterus and Andrew Buckle were the next-best placed Aussies in equal 13th position at 10-under-par.
