27 year old Chinese golfer Ashun Wu has won his first event on the Japan Golf Tour with a playoff victory over Yuta Ikeda at the weather reduced Toshin Golf Tournament at the Ryoshen Golf Club in Mie Prefecture. Nine time Japan Golf Tour winner, Ikeda, birdied three of his last four holes but it was not enough to catch Wu who had started in the group behind on the final day. The tournament was reduced to 54 holes after round three was abandoned due to inclement weather. James McLean led the Australians when he finished in a share of 10th, his best finish in what is his rookie Japan Golf Tour. McLean s final round of 65 was the eqalu best of the day and moved him 24 positions on the final day. Richard Tate was 42nd, Richard Lee 45th and Neven Basic 62nd. The Japan Golf Tour now heads north to Hokkaido for the ANA Open where Australia s Kurt Barnes will attempt to defend his title.
