McNamee accepts full-time CEO role at Melbourne FC

Golf Australia wishes to announce that Paul McNamee has decided to take up a full-time position as CEO of Melbourne FC. Since joining the Golf Australia team two years ago, Paul has driven the resurgence of the Australian Opens, raising the profile of our national championships to place them firmly back on the Australian sporting landscape. Tony Hallam, CEO Golf Australia said, “Paul has done an outstanding job reinvigorating the men&aposs Australian Open and breathing new life into the Women&aposs Australian Open. His drive and enthusiasm was a great asset for golf and he leaves behind a well-equipped and passionate team to continue his legacy. “We wish Paul well in pursuing this full-time role at Melbourne FC and assure him that he will always be a friend of golf and Golf Australia.” McNamee said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my two years at Golf Australia and the role we have played in the rebuilding of our great national championships. “It has been an immense thrill to see the continued rejuvenation of the Australian Opens and I am confident the team at Golf Australia can continue raising the bar and setting new standards. “I have many good friends in the golfing world and hope that I can return as a spectator to witness these great events and maybe grab a front row seat at the stadium hole!”
