Golf Australia continues to promote Senior golf in Australia, introducing the Australian Men&aposs Senior Match Play Championship to be held 24-28 September at the picturesque Barwon Heads Golf Club, Victoria. In what is sure to be a competitive battle that includes current & former Australian Men&aposs Senior Amateur Champions, the players will fight it out over the challenging layout to determine who will be crowned Australian Men&aposs Senior Match Play Champion. Golf Australia Director of Championships Trevor Herden said: “The Senior Men have a very competitive circuit of events around the country, as was illustrated at the Australian Men&aposs Senior Amateur Championship at Commonwealth Golf Club. The Australian Men&aposs Senior Match Play will bring the top Senior Order of Merit players together to play what is a unique & challenging layout down at Barwon Heads.” With Barwon Heads celebrating its centenary in 2007, the club has already hosted the Women&aposs Interstate Team Matches, Australian Women&aposs Foursomes, the prestigious Four Nations Cup and will continue the celebrations by hosting the inaugural Australian Men&aposs Senior Match Play Championship. Entries are now open for those on the 2006/2007 Australian Senior Order of Merit. All eligible players(anyone on the 2006/2007 ASOOM Points Table) can enter, with the 64 highest ranked entries making the field. Click here to view the Australian Senior Men&aposs Match Play
