Royal Adelaide&aposs Sarah King made a winning start to the Women&aposs A1 Pennant season Kooyonga and The Grange have enjoyed a winning start to the season, while joint title favourites Glenelg and Royal Adelaide completed a 2 1/2 all draw in round one of the 2011 Women&aposs A1 pennants at Kooyonga. Glenelg and Royal Adelaide have dominated the Women&aposs A1 Pennant competition in recent years, with Royal Adelaide winning last year&aposs flag and Glenelg winning the competition in 2009, and again nothing separated the teams yesterday&aposs opening round. For Royal Adelaide, Sarah King repeated her 2011 Golf SA Amateur Championship result with a 5 & 3 win over Jenny Lee, while Rebecca Sykes was equally impressive in beating Christine Beasley 5&4. Former state rep Sophie James and Cathy Symons recorded wins for Glenelg while juniors Elysia Yap and Megan Bleeze completed a hard fought draw to ensure a tied result. Kooyonga, lead by state representatives Ebony Heard and Emma Ash made short work of Blackwood in a 5-0 victory. In the final match, The Grange defeated the Golf SA Fringe side 3 & 2, with Kristelle Blum, Louise Glennon and Cassandra Wee all winning their matches. Next week&aposs round two matches at Blackwood sees the hosts taking on Glenelg, while Grange play kooyonga and Royal Adelaide play Golf SA.
