Meyer to coach at Asian Amateur

Queensland coach Tony Meyer has been appointed Travelling Coach to the Australian players at this year&aposs Asian Amateur Championship held at Kasumigaseki Country Club&aposs West Course in Saitama, Japan, from October 7-10. Meyer will assist Australian players Matt Jager (WA), Luke Bleumink (VIC), Jake Higginbottom (NSW), Tarquin MacManus (QLD) Kieran Pratt (VIC) and Jordan Sherratt (SA) Meyer is the current Head Teaching Professional at Virginia Golf Club in Queensland. He turned professional in 1997 earning an Australian Institute of Sport Scholarship in 2000 and played the Australasian PGA Tour until 2002. In July 2002 Meyer began his coaching career at the Royal Mid Surrey Golf Club in England. He returned to Australia in 2005 and not long after was appointed Assistant/Scholarship coach to the AIS Golf Program at Moonah Links in Melbourne. In 2007 Tony was appointed High Performance Manager/State Coach to the South Australian Golf Association and now works as the Queensland State Women&aposs Coach as well as assisting the Queensland Academy of Sport Elite Squad.
