Golf Victoria is pleased to note the success of the 2016 Portsea Open Amateur with over 130 players participating, including 17 women. As a part of an ongoing review of the Ivo Whitton/Susie Tolhurst Programs and the desire to have a stronger connection with the amateur exemption criteria for the Oates Vic Open, Golf Victoria is progressively inlcuding a number of the State's 72-hole amateur events to the exemption category.

Over time, this will provide greater opportunities for our State's amateur players to potentially win their way into the starting field of the unique Men's & Women's Oates Vic Open where men & women compete concurrently over teh Championships's four days at 13th Beach Golf LInks.

Please note: The 2016 Portsea Open Amateur has been allocated to category (h) within this list. Amateur exemptions will be allocated in order as outlined on the 2017 Oates Victorian Open entry form from category (a) onwards. Therefore, exemption into the starting field for category (h) is dependent on prior exemption categories being fully utilised.
