Mid-Amateur Championship Entries Now Open

The 2013 Victorian Mid-Amateur Championship is fast approaching! This Championship is a 36-Hole Stroke event played over two consecutive days with sections for both men and women aged between 30 and 54 years.

The Men’s Victorian Mid Amateur was introduced in 2005 to provide a pinnacle State Championship for players aged 30-54. National and State Mid Amateur titles had been conducted in the US for many years and it was felt that such an event was worth undertaking in Victoria given the domination of major amateur titles by players aged 16 – 25.

Victoria’s decision was mirrored by Golf Australia who soon after added a National Mid Amateur title in 2007. The Victorian Championship has been played at Sandhurst since its inception. Southern joined as a host venue when the event became a 36-hole competition in 2011. A women’s section was also added to the Championship in 2011.

This year’s Championship will again be held at Sandhurst Club and Southern Golf Club on Sunday 26 May and Monday 27 May respectively. Entries are now open and will close at 5:00pm on Friday 10 May 2013.
