Mid-Amateur championships set for The National

Players will arrive at the The National Golf Club in Cape Schanck, Victoria next week for the last of Golf Australia&aposs individual amateur championships in 2010. The courses host the 2010 Australian Men’sand Women’s Mid-Amateur Championships from the 9th to the 11th November. In an exciting change for the championship, 2010 marks the first year that the the men’s and women’s events have been played concurrently. The championships are now in their fourth year and continue to attract a high number of entries. With the inclusion of the State Stroke Teams Event for the first time, the combined male and female team will add another dimension to the competition and allow the mid amateurs to battle it out in the intensity of a state versus state rivalry. Defending champions Julie Swanson and Jason Perry return, both having won the championships twice before. All rounds will be played on the Moonah course with the exception of the final round for the men being played on the Ocean course.
