Mid North District have won their second SA Country District Pennant.
The event, in its sixth year, has seen Mid North come from Division 2 to win the trophy with an overall team score of 3 wins & 18 individual matches.
In second place was South East District with 2 wins & 15.5 individual matches.
The team event comprising of five men and three women, held over 54 holes of match play at Barmera Golf Club, saw Mid North have team wins over Northern, South East & Eyre Peninsula.
Shannon Matthews, the current SA Men’s Country Champion, from Tanunda Pines GC, was dominate at number one notching up wins of 8&7, 5&4 and 8&6.
Sandy Creek member, Susan Keylock, holding the top female position in the side also went through undefeated after a half in the Saturday morning round before cruising to consecutive 4&3 victories in the remaining matches.
The win sees Mid North promoted to Division 1 in 2020 with the 2018 victors, Yorke Peninsula relegated to Division 2.
