Leading this year’s Judy Elphinstone tournament are Port Sorell golfer Sharon Crowden and Tasmania Golf Club junior Georgia Milbourne.
The pair carded rounds of 78 and 40 (118) to lead Launceston Golf Club’s Tammy Hall and Riverside’s Amanda Smith in second place with scores of 79 and 40 (119).
Local member Kaye Morse is placed fifth on 122.
Longford Golf Club’s Lindsay French leads the B Grade championship with a round of 83 and is followed by Flinders Island’s Kellie Thomas on 95.
The C Grade championship sees Tea Tree’s Brenda Saltmarsh on 103 lead Claremont Golf Club’s Jenny Brumby in second place on 109.
Rosemary Paton from the Ulverstone Golf Club holds a four stroke lead in the Senior championship over local hopeful Jane Donohue.
Paton carded a round of 83 in today’s opening round which was blessed with warm and sunny conditions.
Both events conclude tomorrow (Monday 17 November) at the Devonport Golf Club.
