Mini golf a big hit in Campbelltown

The sun is shining, the sausages are sizzling and lots of children are out enjoying the Golf Month Pop-Up Golf Zone at Campbelltown today.

“It’s a great community event. The weather is great, the sun is out, and the activities are all underway,”said Jon Shineberg, Golf NSW Government Relations and Marketing Manager.

“Everyone is enjoying themselves.”

Although one or two of the local children were a bit unsure about participating, it didn't take too long for them to join in.

Ingleburn local Marty Tesema sat back and relaxed as his son Pilli took part in the mini golf.

“I’ve never tried Golf before”Mr Tesema said.

“I’d like to have a go I think. I’m watching my son Pilli now. He’s always wanted to play Golf. Every time we go shopping he wants me to buy him golf clubs.”

“I’m going to get some information on joining Campbelltown Golf Club later,”he said.

Activity around the site grew as the morning progressed, with the mini putt becoming very popular.

Six-year-old Charlize Van Deinsen of Campbelltown came along with her mum. “It’s lots of fun!”she said as she tried out the mini golf.

“The Pop-Up Golf Day is a great opportunity to get the kids active,” a Campbelltown City Council spokesperson said. “It’s proving to be an awesome event.”

The Pop-Up Golf Day is one of a number of events in GOLF MONTH supported by Golf NSW.
