Mika Miyazato carded a two-under 70 on Sunday to take out her maiden LPGA title at the Safeway Classic in Oregon as Australian Karrie Webb finished with a solid last round. Miyato shared the first-round lead and maintained her two-shot lead at the end of the second round at the Pumpkin Ridge&aposs Ghost Creek Course. The Japanese golfer won from American Brittany Lincicome and South Korean Inbee Park at 13 under. Lincicome moved into contention with a third-round 67 but fell just short at 11 under with Park, while So Yeon Yu, who trailed the leader by two strokes overnight, dropped down to a tie for fourth. Yu was tied with Haeji Kang and American Christie Kerr at 10 under. Australian Karrie Webb carded a final-round 69 to move up to two under overall while compatriot Sarah Jane Smith was at six over overall after finishing with a final-round 75. Webb was left to particularly rue a poor second day where she posted a one-over 73 score that effectively ended her chances of claiming the tournament. And Smith endured a particularly bizarre third round as she scored seven bogeys in the first 12 holes before reeling off four birdies to somewhat salvage an odd day on the course.
