Miyazato leads with Kemp tied 4th

Japan native Mika Miyazato shot a bogey-free 6-under 65 to take the first-round lead at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship Presented by P&G. The 25-year-old returns to the Pinnacle Country Club as a Rolex First-Time Winner at last year s Safeway Classic Presented by Coca-Cola, but her previous career-best finish had been a tie for second in Northwest Arkansas. Sarah Kemp is the leading Australian, firing a first round score of 4 under par to be tied 4th. Kemp, who is playing in her sixth year in the LPGA Tour got off to a good start with a birdie on the first hole and finished the round bogey free. “I&aposve always loved coming here”, said Kemp. “I like the course, I kind of like the big houses around the place, and I just feel good around here”. Off the other Australians, Sarah Jane Smith had an even par round (T53), Katherine Hull-Kirk posted 1 over par (T76), Lindsey Wright and Stacey Keating both at 2 over par (T96), Julia Boland (T122) and Bre Elliott (T132).
