Queenslander Jed Morgan put the finishing touches on a magnificent campaign to win the NT Amateur on the weekend.
Morgan, representing Hattonvale, shot a 74 in the opening round plagued by a quadruple bogey on his second hole at the Alice Springs Golf Club.
A two-under 70 score in the second-round put him back in the mix, with a marvellous 67 in the third round giving him the 54-hole lead and two-shot buffer from Victoria’s Bailey Watson heading into the final day.
Consistency proved key for Morgan producing a superb 69 in the heat of the final round to claim victory by one shot over Western Australia’s Jordan Doull.
To add to a tremendous victory, Morgan also took out the Junior Championship with fellow Queenslanders Zach Maxwell, Tyler Duncan, and Lucas Higgins producing top 10 finishes.
Earlier in the week, Morgan paired with Royal Queensland’s James Mee to capture his third title in the Foursomes Championships after a nail-biting four-way sudden death playoff.
