Morgan secures Women’s Senior Order of Merit


Jacqui Morgan (Monash Country Club) has taken out the 2011-2012 Golf NSW Women’s Senior Order of Merit. In what has been a busy week in Women’s Golf, Morgan capped off an outstanding 12 months by qualifying in top place for the Match Play section of the Women’s NSW Senior Championship. Whilst she would eventually be beaten in the Final, her achievement in securing the Order of Merit highlights not only her talent, but her consistency as well. Morgan took out the Women&aposs Senior Order of Merit with 1450 points accumulated across seven events. This included wins st the Seaside Classic, Nelson Bay, Monash, Long Reef, Avondale and the Barrenjoey Week of Golf. She then confirmed her victory by taking out the Strokeplay section of the Women&aposs NSW Senior Championships at Coffs Harbour. Last years winner, Sylvia Donohue (Narooma) came in second place with 655 points, whilst Liz Smyth (Royal Canberra) accumulated 632 points. The top five was rounded out by Maggie Hayes (Bonnie Doon) with 510 points and Christine Marks (Cypress Lakes) 346 points. Information on the Golf NSW Women’s Senior Order of Merit can be found here.
